CAR CULTURE HAFADAZE June 29, 2021June 29, 2021 by ONE UPSHIFT’S GATHER 21 Hafa Adai ya’ll. Thanks again for joining us here on HAFADAZE.COM. It’s been awhile since there’s been an official car show or meet or gathering at the track… We’ve been been going crazy with lockdowns, restrictions, masking-up, and finding out when we can go and finally catch a movie again. Thankfully, COVID-19 restrictions are slowly being lifted as more and more get vaccinated…. Life on Guam seems to be resuming to more of a “normal” state since the craziness that started back in March 2020. William Soriano’s LS still looking as great as it did back to pre-COVID days. Don’t remember if that little stand up hood emblem is new or not; Looks cool either way. Notice that Taco in the back with the dump bed… The “hydros” scene has been slowly making a comeback… I’ve been noticing their presence at other local meets hosted by Kelaguenprjx, Superkawaiiguam, and the now on-vacay-Paseo Friday nights. Looks like this mini was straight from one of the AutoJams at Greyhound way back when… I wasn’t able to attend this event due to being off-island, but thankfully our good friend, Myer from Admyer Photos came in clutch with photo coverage once again… Wish I could explain this more… but I’ll just say “what’s in the trunk…” lol Reppin’ Exotic Minis… Here’s a snapshot of the circa-2021 “old-but-new” mini craze in ice-cream truck form. TRU~Jed’s clean Honda van with dem new fender flares. Upshift’s GATHER was held at the oval track this year in conjunction with the Proline Drift series. The meet was a small portion of a weekend long event entitled “Race Fiesta” which brought numerous enthusiasts out to “race” from drags to actual mountain bike races… Rowell from Hell Santos’s clean and simple GX on the GOAT wheels, TE37s. Guam in 2021 isn’t complete without a Mini-van (or truck) from Row, a bike from Hornet, and/or solar light from Jgoodman. FRFR. TE37 the world… Yellow Sea of Spoooooooon. EG from Zerodown Garage… Supa clean rides from @e_tolentino_ and @jayugbn… Check ’em on IG. Both of ’em rocking the HFDZ plates… Check our online store to get your pre-order in! Restock ships on August 1st in case you missed them last month! @mt_justin aka @tinsnewinsta’s Lady in Red… Rear view… Too clean. @aki2is’s I350 dumped on Enkeis… One of the cleaner 10th gen Civics on Guam’s roads from @marvindulana “Check out dem solar lights bruv…” A show or meet or gathering ain’t official unless the wheel kings of Guam from Team Abunai are out and about… Here’s Jimster’s IS at the Proline booth rocking some aesthetically pleasing SSR Profs. What a shot… @natee_cu2 rocking some new kicks for this event… If I were 20 something and saw this in person, I’d probably say “sheeeeesh.” Guam style chop truck, originally an XB. I like how the back door was moved to the middle area as the divider from the cabin. How’s about some American mooskles from @_joncab_ x Rustic Garage… Is that a Supra?! In addition to the mini trucks/vans, we’ve been seeing more and more cool cars coming from Japan… Don’t remember the last time I’ve seen a decently modded Isuzu pickup. Cherry. Another household name to Guam’s gatherings, formerly know as “The Destroyer” Rex; Thankfully most of his rides have been kept intact the last couple of years. lol Super clean Cali-styled RSX. Nice to see some new builds emerge from the pandemic. Every time I come around your city bling bling… If I recall correctly, GATHER was limited to around 80 cars to comply with government restrictions… @lil_john27 emerged as the “Car of the Meet.” Saw other pics of this build and the award was well-deserved IMO. Don’t have anymore pics, but this ride has all bases covered. Congrats dude. Thanks for joining us for this short, but sweet coverage of Upshift’s Gather. Glad to see the builds continue, despite the recent hardships on island and worldwide. If you missed out on our latest frame drop, no worries — you can now preorder a set at our online store with shipping beginning on August 1st!
