Guam’s roads are scattered with modified Hondas, Nissans, and Toyotas, and the occasional Hyundai. Skyler Taitano didn’t want to be the same as anyone else, as evidenced by his Kia Optima. Yes, a Kia… He fell in love with the Optima’s big, bold and beautiful body lines. I, too have started to admire this once obscure brand. Skyler’s Optima got my attention at the recent Slammed Society Guam with it’s aggressive stance.
His Optima was also very visible on Instagram (follow us @hafadazeguam) and I took notice when he had tagged us on a couple of pictures. He originally started with Megan Racing coilovers but has since made the big jump to an air suspension kit from Airrex. Skyler tells me that the Airrex kit he is on is actually “the world’s first” kit for this particular platform. He thanks Marshall Lum from Airrex USA and Dennis/Jay from Garage Innovation, and Elv Felisan for all the assistance in helping him make his Optima hotter than the very very very spicy wings at Pochon.

Skyler has kept the mods fairly simple so far… When asked about future plans he’s considered a color change and new wheels for Slammed Society: Offset Kings this December. But for now, he invites everyone to come see what he has done with his Optima on at the AutoFiesta2 on Saturday, April 12, 2014.
