HafaDaze AutoFiesta 2 Coverage [Part 1]

Before I even start writing about AutoFiesta 2, we just want to thank all of the major sponsors for making this event possible – Tropical Productions, Miller Lite, Monster Energy, Triple J Autogroup, Uno Magazine, Opake, Vape Junction, Proline Automotive, VIP’D Out, Garage Innovation, Local Steez, Harley Davidson Guam, DRAG, CarAudioImage, and Signcraft Guam….along with all the spectators and car owners. Thank you!

It was kinda funny because after we finished last year’s show – I told myself that I would never ever ever ever ever do that again. I’m pretty sure the other guys were feeling the same way. I don’t remember exactly how it happened – but Art aka Signcraft head honcho convinced us that we could pull it off again… and that we did.

Like any major event – car show or not – manpower is a huge issue. Thankfully, we had many warm (and after burnt) bodies to help us with registration, staging, manning of the gates, and other random things that had to be done… Here you see Mark from the Local Steez crew who staged vehicles all morning long….

Mark was accompanied by  the two buff guys in with tatts – Rollie and Kinno. Mucho props! Not pictured from Local Steez are Jorge, John, and Monty… Can’t thank these guys enough…

At the registration tent we had a bunch of the Team Abunai crew – including Rowell “From Hell” Santos, Brian, and Ben… Not pictured are Dan and Alex who were the gate keepers. You can see half of Ronell on the lower right… didn’t think he deserved a full pic on here because he’s always on the front page of the PDN anyway… lol

Here’s Ben’s 240 on some beautiful SSRs… Didn’t even notice until I saw this pic but it looks like he has a roll bar in there now. Anyway – the Abunai cars were only for display this year and not competing in the show.

Right next to him was the Cars Plus Hyundai Genesis which later competed in the Proline Drift Battle event the day after AutoFiesta 2.

Since there was no drifting going on at the same time as the car show (like last year), we thought that we could have some drifting action with the RC enthusiasts. Thanks to Del Nucum for setting up the course and getting those sweet cars out.

Here’s a closer look at some of ’em… A little something different for a change.

Nate Valencia brought out his LS430 with a few exterior upgrades – to include what I think is a Wald lip kit… Love how it turned out. Great look.

The Destroyer, Rex Deseo, brought out his recently repainted and motorswapped (RB20–>RB25) R32 Skyline. He took home 3rd place in the “Fitment” category… It was weird because only 4 vehicles competed in it. We thought that this category was going to be stacked…

Rex’s girlfriend, Joemarie, brought out her Lancer Evolution;  Skyline and Evo… man, must be nice…

Scion TC from Team Murata…

Tony Maldonado’s Civic SI with a couple exterior upgrades… Chargespeed front lip and one-off splitter… White-faced Work Starks; You’ve seen it here before on our site but it looks much better now with those simple changes.

One of the cleanest engine bays at the show… Tony ended up taking home 3rd place honors in the 2dr category which had over 40 competitors.

It was pretty random seeing this BMW E30 M3 from Ill Dynasty roll in… can’t say that I run into these all that often…

Same goes for this Ford Fusion… random, but props for choosing such a different platform. A little bit more of a drop would be nice too…

Maybe something similar to B.Salas’ Airrex equipped Lexus IS350 which was displayed at the VIP’D Out/Airrex/Garage Innovation booth… These guys came out pretty hard with a nice lineup of bagged vehicles.

Absolutely hammered to the ground…

Another ride on air, this custom lowrider bike from Team Illicit… So sick… It ended up taking home 1st place honors in the bike/scooter category by a landslide.

If you have some free time, check out the #HFDZAF2 hashtag on Instagram and you’ll find a video of this bike airing down. Cherry!

Proline was out once again with a full display with Josh Ninete’s Scion FRS… You can always count on them for supporting the automotive community on Guam.

Jung Kim brought out his pristine S2000 for the AutoFiesta 2.

Will Taladoc’s Lexus IS250 sitting on a mint set of aggressive fitting Volk Racing TE37s.

TE37s are probably my favorite wheels of all time… They look good on almost any brand or platform.

We’ll end part 1 with a quick look at a small portion of the cars on display… So much more coverage to come!! Thanks to Myer from Admyer Photos for getting these photos for us.

We’ll be right back with more…. Stay tuned!!
