SAVE THE RACEWAY

We are asking the community to assist us by gathering as much signatures to submit during this comment period for the SEIS. We the people who enjoy motorsports, as well as citizens of Guam who care for public safety (against street racing and other problems that arise without a recreational facility) have banded together as C.A.R. = The Community Advocates of the Raceway. We are going around collecting signatures and leaving forms at most businesses who support the existence of the Guam International Raceway.

For all of our supporters abroad or who are unable to sign the joint comment form in person, it can also be done online on the Guam SEIS site. THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS DECEMBER 10, 2012.

We’ve made it real easy for you.

In the organization or company section you can enter: Community Advocates of the Raceway

This is our unified statement (same as the petition form) as CAR that you can copy and paste onto the comment section:

We the Community Advocates of the Raceway (CAR) are in full support of the Military relocation to Guam. CAR consists of those citizens who would highly encourage the following Main Cantonment Preliminary Alternatives at NCTS Finegayan/South Finegayan, and Live-Fire Training Range Complex Preliminary Alternatives in Northwest Field. We feel these alternatives work BEST as it will make use of the properties that the Federal Government already owns, it will consolidate everything in one location, relieve anticipated vehicle traffic on Guam’s thoroughfares by making the Main Cantonment and Live-Fire training range accessible within the gate, and not acquire additional private and local government land.

Although we feel that our nations safety is of upmost importance with the proper training for our military members, we also know that the safety and welfare of our community is just as important. The other locations listed for alternative sites of the Live-Fire Training Range Complex on Route 15 (Route 15 A & B ) threaten the existence of the property known both locally and internationally as the Guam International Raceway. The Guam International Raceway has been serving the island of Guam’s community for over a decade through weekly year round organized motorsports events for local, military, and international competitors from around the globe. (Drag Racing, SCCA Solo2, Drifting, Motorcycle Stunting, Off-Road Racing, 4×4 Obstacle Courses, Motocross, Car Shows) It regularly hosts corporate and community events that benefit local schools and charities (local and national) and the facility is also utilized for Bus driving schools, vehicle safety training for Guam’s National Guardsmen, Police, and Fire departments. It has been essential in eradicating street racing from public roads and promoting family togetherness by maintaining a facility that is clean, safe, and purpose built. The Guam International Raceway remains a desperately needed venue for the island of Guam and its community.

In conclusion, I attest to the above statement; That we are in favor of the Main Cantonment at NCTS Finegayan/South Finegayan, and the Live-Fire Training Range Complex at North West Field.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! PLEASE SHARE THIS ON YOUR PAGE AND WE HOPE TO KEEP A SAFE MOTORSPORTS VENUE OPEN FOR OUR FUTURE GENERATION TO ENJOY! -GIR
