CAR CULTURE

STANCEFEST Prep Vol. 1

HAFADAZE!

Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. As most of you know, the island’s first “stance” meet is less than a month away! There’s quite a buzz about this event. There’s so much talk about who’s going to be debuting their new look… or as we call it here on Guahan…breaking out. “Breaking out” is a phrase that has been used for years in the car scene for those who have a whole bunch of new mods that they want to show off. Ideally, if you are going to “break out,” you try to hide your ride as much as possible and keep everything on a hush-hush. That way, when you finally roll up to the event, it’s pretty much boom chika wow wow status for that particular person. All eyes on you. Everyone is trying to step their game up for this one, I’m sure.

BEFORE: Subject of the night, Justin’s Scion TC.

Yesterday night, my sniper friend Dennis called me up because he had left his shades with me the other night at a party. I met up with him to drop his shades at what we call the ‘ville (our homie Myk’s house). When I arrived, I found that a couple of guys from the Menace 2 Society fam were going to work on one of the rides for the show. The goal for the night was to roll some fenders, install some wheel spacers, and a new set of wheels on a Scion TC. I’ve never been a fan of the TC personally (no offense) but when done up right, they can actually look pretty decent.

Shot of the 25mm (!) Ichiba spacers.

Dennis and Myk setting up the roller. Be on the lookout for Dennis… this fool is going balls out on his Junction Produce GS build. We’ll definitely have updates on that here on HD.

Another view. Pretty damn dark! haha!

Myk with the heat gun. Sorry these pics aren’t SLR quality. Was using my trusty Iphone4!

Last shot of the night.

I actually left them as they were working on it… The damn gnats or termites or whatever bugs were out in full force last night. I was getting all itchy so I left a bit early. I told them I was going to come back later in the night, but I fell asleep… so even I’m excited to see how the car turned out. As soon as I have those pics I’ll try and post them up. Keep checking back for more updates.
